No, I'm not writing about Nike or anything like that. I just love the phrase! It reminds me to stop overthinking, second guessing myself, just go for it!

A few months ago, I really dove into the world of DIY lives on Facebook and really started to work on my Facebook page. I focused on providing quality content that my viewers would like, went live often with DIY projects, and studied how Facebook worked. Who knew there were so many "secret" things to Facebook!

I was nervous and unsure, especially about going live, as I have never gone live online before. The same questions that many people have raced through my mind.....What if no one watches me? What if they don't like what I'm doing? What do I do? What if I'm bad at it? What do I say or talk about? Then, one day, I just told myself........JUST DO IT! Was it nerve wracking? Yes! Did I survive? Absolutely! And it was so much fun!

One of my "fears" happened....not many people joined me on my first live. In fact, I think all of them were family members....my super duper faithful supporters. (Thank you!!!) Guess what?!?! Even though not many people showed up for my live.....guess what?! I SURVIVED!! And I still had fun!!!! (Check out my first live Facebook videos below).

So, after quite a few live vidoes, do a lot of people show up to them? Not really. Do I have some AWESOME supports that do show up consistently? YES! And they are the ones that make it worth while. I will continue to work on growing my audience, but in the meantime I will....

KEEP SHOWING UP!

No matter if I only get a few viewers.

No matter if I only get a few likes on my posts.

No matter if only a few people comment.

NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS I WILL KEEP SHOWING UP!

Why?

Because consistency is they key.

Because I care about what I do.

Because I love what I do.

Because I believe in myself!

Whatever it is you want to do, but are nervous to do it...………...JUST DO IT!!!!!! :)

Here is my very first live Facebook video! It wasn't THAT bad, but I sure have come a long way!

And here is my first DIY live video! Again, not terrible, but definitely not great. My background was boring and lighting was terrible. I learned a lot in the past few months!

Looking for a simple yet stunning DIY? Check out this adorable tassel and bead keychain tutorial!

Also, don't forget to check out my Facebook page for lots of other DIY ideas, videos, and more!

So, this DIY idea came from browsing around on Pinterest....the Mecca of DIY inspiration. Am I right?! I came across this adorable tassel and bead keychain and just KNEW I had to make it myself so, I packed up my kids and headed to Hobby Lobby to buy some of the supplies. In a matter of a half hour I had a few done already! It's that easy!

TASSEL AND BEAD KEYCHAIN TUTORIAL

SUPPLIES:

  • suede cord (I got mine at Hobby Lobby, but you can find it on Amazon as well.)

  • keychain rings

  • wood beads (Hobby Lobby as well, but also on Amazon)

  • cotton twine or floss (I used cotton twine from Dollar Tree)

  • needle with large eye

  • hot glue gun (LOVE gorilla glue hot glue sticks!)

Here are some Amazon links to similar materials that I used.

(These links are my affiliate links).

The first thing you need to do is cut a piece of the cotton twine. This will be used to tie your tassel pieces together and to string your beads on. Next, cut your suede cording to the szie you want. I folded mine in half to see how long I wanted it and then cut. I used 6 strings of the suede cording.

Next, bunch up the suede strings and fold them in half. Feed your longer cotton twine through the loop of the suede pieces and tie in a tight double knot.

Now cut a small piece of suede string to wrap around. I would say about 4 to 5 inches in length. Pinch all of your strands together and add a dab of hot glue to where you'd like your wrapped part of your tassel to be. Set the end of the wrapping cord on the hot glue and allow to cool and dry completely before wrapping because you are going to be pulling it a bit.

Now wrap your cord around until you are happy with how it looks or until you run out of cord to wrap with! Hot glue the end down and cut off any extra.

Now you have your tassel! Super cute and easy right?!

Now let's add the beads! I added three, but you can add however many you'd like! I also like the look of one. Super simple and pretty. Using a large yarn needle string your beads onto your cotton twine. Then tie your key ring with a double knot (forgot to take a picture of that part....oops!)

To finish off the ends of the cotton twine I feed my needle through the first bead and then cut off the extra string as close to the bead as I can. Wiggle the beads around until the ends are hidden!

Lastly, trim the ends of the your tassel to your liking! I like to trim them at an angle rather than straight across. Super minor detail, but I think it looks nicer!

And now you're done! These tassel keychains are so easy to make and can be customized so easily too! You could use man different kinds of materials to really make them your own! They add style to your purses, totes, and keys and make great gifts!

Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you enjoed the tutorial!
